I am a Canadian, born in Germany in 1945. My family is Ukrainian and we emigrated to Canada in 1948.
My elementary and secondary education was completed in Toronto and I went to the Toronto Teachers College in 1968. My first year of teaching was in Nassau, Bahamas. I also taught in Guelph and Toronto.
In 1965, I was married and my children were born in 1975 and 1977. We were an active family enjoying the outdoors and sporting activities. Although I did not paint, I engaged in many other crafts.
From 1997 to 2004,I owned and operated an antique store in the Junction area of Toronto. As an executive on the Junction Business Improvement Area (BIA), I had an opportunity to work with our elected councilors at the Toronto City Hall.
In 2004, I retired and took my first watercolour class which was titled "Art for the Terrified". Since then, I have taken many workshops in Toronto, Kleinberg, Haliburton, Maine, Michigan, Maryland, and New Mexico. I am fortunate to have studied with some of the best local and international watercolourists.
